Director of Fundraising and Marketing
JOB DESCRIPTION
Benton Hall Academy (BHA) is a small, nonprofit school for students who learn differently. We are looking for a driven individual to create a clear BHA brand and to raise funds for the organization. The position reports to the Head of School and its responsibilities include:
- Creating a clear brand and marketing strategy to increase enrollment and awareness of BHA in the community
- Identifying and researching potential funding sources to understand the types of activities they typically support and writing appropriate proposals for funding from those sources
- Implementing promotional efforts to drive enrollment and build brand awareness
- Directing fundraising programs including the annual Food for Thought fundraiser
- Identifying, recruiting and organizing event sponsors, volunteers and other appropriate individuals to support and staff fundraising activities
- Maintaining the data base that includes alumni and friends of BHA to ensure accurate contact information and to track donations and participation in BHA events
- Organizing campaigns and events, including events for alumni, that will lead to donations and/or greater awareness of BHA
- Facilitating a culture of appreciation towards donors and volunteers among the staff at BHA
BHA Fundraiser Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, fundraising, development or related field
- Experience in a fundraising, marketing, or development position
- Creativity and persuasion skills
- Detail-oriented
- Good organizational and follow-through skills
Salary/Bonus
- Up to $60,000 depending on level of education and experience
- A bonus will be available based on exceeding agreed-upon goals for grants and/or fundraising
